POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

These policies are established to ensure ease of registration, the quality of your experience and the safety of all persons attending classes.

Workshops Fees

All prices are listed under the workshop tab on this website.

Registration

Advance registration for Artiste classes or workshops is strongly recommended to secure a student’s place in class and to ensure that the class will run. Enrollment is limited and accepted on a first-paid basis. Registrations will not be processed without deposit. Registration continues to the day prior to the first class unless a deadline is specified.

Individuals may register in any of the following ways: (Registration form on Artiste Website)

  • In person at the Artiste Fine Art Gallery & Studio

  • By mail to the Artiste Fine Art Gallery 3502 H Wrightsville Ave. Wilmington, NC 28403

  • By telephone at 910-520-6481

Successful processing of the registration form and full payment is necessary to guarantee enrollment. Please be aware that incomplete information on registration forms may delay successful processing and enrollment.

Payment

A deposit of $100 is required at the time of registration in any of the following ways:

  • Credit card (Master Card or VISA) with a $3 third-party processing fee

  • Checks, cash or money orders payable to Artiste will only be allowed for mail-in

registration or in-person registrations.

*There will be a fee of $20 for returned checks. 

Enrollment 

A minimum enrollment is required. In addition, a maximum enrollment exists to ensure the quality of the student’s experience. 

Cancellation Policy

Because enrollment is limited, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Workshop deposits are fully refundable less a cancellation fee of $50.00 per person up to 4 weeks before workshop start date. Final payment is due in full 4 weeks before workshop start date and in case of cancellation by participant, is non-refundable. If for any reason, a workshop must be cancelled, you will be notified, and your deposit and tuition will be refunded in full. We recommend that participants consider travel insurance policies for payment cancellation, as we are not responsible for airline, hotel, rental car etc. (workshop deposit payment and cancellation will differ from airline, hotel, rental car etc. policies)

Materials

Students enrolled in workshops are responsible for all materials unless otherwise noted. For the experience to be educational, students are expected to bring the specified materials to the first class unless otherwise arranged by instructor. Easel’s, tables and stools are provided. The amount and type of materials will vary from workshop to workshop. Therefore, a list of suggested materials will be provided along with the workshop description.

Hazardous Art Materials

Brush cleaning must be done in an approved location. Oily rags, papers, and paints must be disposed of in a lidded, approved container. Only odorless solvents are allowed in studio. (Gamsol)

Food and Drink

Coffee and tea are provided as a courtesy for students

Publicity Waiver

Adults (18 or older)

Unless Artiste is notified in writing, enrollment indicates that the student grants permission for use of photographs and/or images of artwork and/or students for Artiste educational, publicity, archival, or grant purposes. Written requests denying this permission must be given on or before the first day of class.

Workshop Etiquette

Artiste Gallery & Studio reserves the right to dismiss any student, without refund, for behavior that is disruptive to the creative process and learning environment. Please remember to be courteous to your classmates. It is up to each student to keep their studio area clean of debris and safe for movement through the shop.

Safety

Artiste Gallery & Studio is not responsible for injuries sustained as a result of improper or careless use of tools and equipment. Injuries must be reported. A First Aid kit is available in the lavatory.

Drugs/Alcohol

No alcohol is permitted in the classrooms or during instruction time. The use of illegal substances is prohibited. Alcohol is permitted in designated areas at designated times only.

Firearms

Concealed and unconcealed firearms and weapons are not permitted in the building.

Smoking

Smoking and smokeless tobacco products are not permitted inside the building.

Personal Property

Artiste Gallery & Studio is not responsible for the security of property left in the facility.
